My child is missing

Right now

Call 911

You do not have to wait 24 hours. That is a myth. There is no waiting period for a missing child in Arkansas or anywhere in the US.

  1. Call 911. Ask them to enter your child into the NCIC missing person file. Federal law requires it immediately, with no waiting period.
  2. Call NCMEC. 1-800-843-5678 They work directly with law enforcement and they are free.
  3. Search the house first, including closets, vehicles, under beds, and anywhere a small child could be shut in. Tell the officers you have done it.
  4. Write down what they were wearing, their height and weight, and find the most recent clear photo of their face. Have it ready on your phone.
  5. Do not wipe or reset their devices. Do not delete their accounts. Give investigators the passwords if you have them.
  6. Write down names of friends, online contacts, usernames, and anyone new in their life recently. Give this list to the officers.

About AMBER Alerts

In Arkansas, AMBER Alerts are issued by the Arkansas State Police, and only when they determine a child has been abducted and is in imminent danger. No one else can issue one. Not us, and not a social media page.

What we do not do

We do not host missing child cases, run searches, or share posters. Doing that badly sends volunteers to the wrong place and gets in the way of the people running the case.

The real, current information lives with NCMEC: missingkids.org.

Be careful who you talk to

Families of missing children are targeted by scammers and by people offering "psychic" or "AI search" services. Give money to no one. Work through law enforcement and NCMEC.
